You are correct. I would be fascinated to hear the Chinese versions. (I don't know how much you know about China, so I wrote some basic things there which might seem naive.) In short, we've got a number of active translators for Simon's lyrics in recent years, and most lyrics are in Netease Cloud Music. But as far as I'm concerned, only people located in China can use the software.

Feels sorry for that. I picked some good translations in my post; maybe one day I'll sort these translations up in some place, but I'm still not sure how to do that.Astrophilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13776871459169880976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7824464142604361129.post-42304959068960158612018-09-08T18:56:28.049-07:002018-09-08T18:56:28.049-07:00张慧盟-- What an interesting challenge you have set f...张慧盟-- What an interesting challenge you have set for yourself! I am curious as to how you handle those non-English words in Simon's songs-- do you leave them in their original languages?
As to your question-- Yes, I am planning on revisiting those songs when lyrical changes have been made, to discuss how they affect the overall meaning of the songs.
I would be very happy to learn how to hear your Chinese versions of the songs. I have a friend who is fluent in Chinese (not sure which dialect) and I am sure she would enjoy them as well. I often refer to them for more perspectives and interpretation ideas when I try to translate Simon's lyrics into Chinese. It's a little hard to try to convey all the subtle meanings, you know.

Recently (actually, that's today, 9.7) Simon has released his new album, In The Blue Light. Though all tracks are old songs, it seems that Simon changed some of the lyrics. For example, in the new version of this song, the last part of the lyrics has been changed into:

"Some folks’ lives roll easy
Some folks’ lives
Gaze out from a window to a wall
The sunlight written in a scrawl
The gift and guard intended for a soul
But some folk's lives"

I think that's quite interesting. Will you write new articles about these changes?Astrophilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13776871459169880976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7824464142604361129.post-66978537216633428072018-05-16T06:49:45.729-07:002018-05-16T06:49:45.729-07:00ThanksThanksJesperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00300752114577494321noreply@blogger.com
